This 1994 Gillig Phantom Bus has a series 50 Detroit Diesel turbo engine and a Allison B500 automatic transmission. This bus is has a 120 gallon diesel tank. It also has air suspension and air brakes. The phantom also has a small wheelchair lift. The Gillig Phantom is 40 ft in length.
The seats in the 1994 Phantom are covered in dark blue plastic. They are two rows along the windows and have two seats each at the back wall is a five passenger seat. It has room for stand up passengers with plastic bars on each chair and a large metal rail across the top of the bus. Two rows of seats fold up to allow a wheelchair room.
The Phantom is mostly white with a very small blue and red accent stripe. There is a LCD scrolling sign above the front windshield that can be programmed to display the buses intended location. All of the bus windows are tinted to reduce glare and help keep the bus cool while stuck in traffic on hot summer days. This Gillig Phantom has an intercom system to make sure any announcements are heard by the entire bus.
