This is a 1959 BMW R60 in excellent shape. It looks and rides like it just came off the showroom and it starts on the first or second kick! The engine was rebuilt and has 600 miles. The transmission including a new clutch was rebuilt and has 300 miles. The mileage on the title says 39,000, but the speedometer says 29,000. The reason for the discrepancy is not clear. What has not been restored or rebuilt because there was no need for it, is the drive shaft and final drive, exhaust pipes front and rear suspension in good working order. The chrome is in great shape, except underneath bike where there is a surface rust on pipe connector.
This 1959 BMW R-Series has had some cosmetic work, such as headlight bucket repaint, all new rubber components, except knee pads, new fuel lines, new spark wires and caps, engine case, transmission case, and valve covers bead blasted and now look brand new and cylinders black powder coat that also look brand new. The frame and fenders have been repainted and/or are original and have a few scratches but look beautiful. The gas tank has a few scratches, but has a deep shine with original paint and pin stripping. Inside is immaculate with orange tank liner looking brand new. There is a new front saddle and the passenger is in great shape and cosmetically good.
